Описание:
Компания Microsoft представила свои планы по выпуску следующей версии Windows Embedded, причём предварительная сборка стандартной версии доступна уже сейчас. Windows Embedded является специализированной версией ОС, используемой в различной встраиваемой электронике вроде киосков, банкоматов, медицинском оборудовании и так далее. Похоже, все издания этой версии операционной системы получат имя Windows Embedded 8, однако в пресс-релизе компания пока называет это семейство Windows Embedded v.Next.
Издание Enterprise выйдет через три месяца после Windows 8, Standard — ещё через шесть месяцев. Embedded Compact, рассчитанная на небольшие устройства и базированная на Windows Phone, выйдет во второй половине 2012 года.
Уже сейчас Windows Embedded Standard 8 доступна для скачивания в виде предварительной сборки Community Technology Preview. Среди основных нововведений можно упомянуть возможность создания приложений Metro, сенсорный ввод, расширенную веб-функциональность благодаря Internet Explorer 10, поддержку NFC и улучшения безопасности. Как и в случае с потребительской Windows 8, Embedded будет поддерживать платформу ARM, но предварительная сборка не имеет этой функциональности. Windows Embedded Standard 8 предназначена для систем с 32- или 64-битными процессорами x86.

Standard_8_64bit_Bootable_ IBW_CTP.iso - This .ISO file contains the Image Builder Wizard (IBW) setup program for 64-bit machines. It should be run on a target device for a wizard-based installation with minimal configuration of the target OS.
CTP Product Key Information:
The CTP release includes tools which will allow you to configure and install an evaluation copy of Windows Embedded Standard 8. The evaluation copy has a 30-day trial period. When the trial period expires, Windows Embedded Standard 8 will reboot every 30 minutes.
Note: The CTP1 release will stop working on January 15, 2013, regardless of when an evaluation copy is installed.
